Route of the Llanero Dawn - Villavicencio

Also called Ruta Turística del Río meta, it includes the municipalities of Puerto López and Puerto Gaitán. The Route starts in Villavicencio, at the foot of the Llanero mountain, on the road that leads to the municipality of Puerto López. 86 km after leaving Villavicencio, you reach the municipality of Puerto López, located on the banks of the Meta river. In Puerto López you can visit the Canoero Monument.

El Alto menegua is located six km from the town center on the road that leads to the Municipality of Puerto Gaitán, from there you can see the splendor of the immense plain bathed by the Meta River. In the Alto Menegua we find the geographic center of Colombia, represented in an obelisk. Leaving Alto de Menegua, we continue the 112 km route along the plain, leading us to the municipality of Puerto Gaitán. The beaches of the Manacacías, Yucao and Meta rivers are an alternative for rest and recreation. In the mouths of the Manacacias we can see the Pink Dolphins "Toninas".

We also find natural spas, typical llaneros grills, the monument to "the fallen in action, Carlos Julio Gil Colorado", located at the Apiay air base.

Further ahead we find the Quename oil complex. The route has excellent agrotouristic farms, where you can practice rappelling and canopy. In the Km 47 works the largest Agroecological park in Latin America (600 hectares), "Merecure", which has a hotel, camping area, sport fishing, 60 hectares of zoo and an indigenous shelter Sikuani, in this same tour are other tourist resorts that offer excellent quality and service
